SPI Invitational Division I Basketball Tournament
7TH ANNUAL SPI BASKETBALL INVITATIONAL – NOVEMBER 25-26, 2011
The South Padre Island Invitational, one of college basketball’s elite Thanksgiving tournaments, has put together another stellar field!
Each team will play four games- the first two at campus sites, and the final two rounds at the South Padre Island Convention Center on beautiful South Padre Island, Texas on November 25th & 26th. Teams include: Iowa State, Northern Iowa, Providence, Rice, West Carolina, Northern Colorado, Florida A&M and Southern.
Tickets are $55, buy one and get one free! Tournament passes are available and can be purchased through the South Padre Island Convention Center Box Office (888) 774-8587 or online at http://www.sopadre.com/island/ Individual game tickets will be available for purchase at the door.

Sandcastle Days
Come watch the sand come alive October 20th to the 23rd, 2011!
Master Sand Sculptors make the sand come alive as they compete for over $3000 in cash prizes!
This year the festival moves to a picturesque ONE ACRE stretch of beach on the north end of South Padre Island. With the generous cooperation of Clayton’s Resort Beach Bar & Grill, the La Quinta Inn and Suites and the Hilton Garden Inn, this new location will make it easier to get to and easier to park!
Admission is FREE and will include live music, art booths, amateur competitions and an exciting new evening event!
